About half of my class are non-writers, and a handful are tracers (or need to copy). Writing the date is a common daily task in the classroom and I was finding it time consuming to write the date with highlighter for all of my students that weren’t able to do it on their own. It was also hard for my students that copy, to look up at the board to find the date any copy it. So here’s how the date stamp has been a game changer.
- For my “writer” students, I have one volunteer to switch the stamp to the correct date.
- Then I can easily go around (or have a helper student go around) and stamp everyone’s pages that need help copying the date. Now it is directly in front of them and easy to copy.
- For my non-writers, they can manually stamp it themelves or with hand over hand help.
- If you get a bigger sized stamp with light colored ink, this is a perfect alternate for your “tracers”.
- Did I mention, it’s kinda fun to do even if you can write!
So I’ve done some searching around for date stamps and I found this one that is pretty affordable, has a stand (less mess), and the dates go until 2025. Most stamps that were cheaper only went to 2018. Click on the Amazon affiliate link below to get yours today!
